This bit is also well suited to horses that play with their tongues, trying to put their tongue over the bit, as the port prevents this effectively. Therefore this bit is eminently suited to horses that don’t like conventionally shaped bits due to the pressure on the tongue and respond with head-shaking or similar. The full cheek bit sits very quietly and is very stable in the mouth. It provides reliable lateral restriction without the risk of the skin or lips being pinched by the supports. Useful on horses that clearly need more support and guidance around turns, like young and inexperienced ones or very strong ones.
