This means that the bits rest on the horse's tongue with a broad surface as long as a light contact is maintained. Only when the rider exerts more force on the reins does the mouthpiece rotate forward. The unique effect that now occurs: The mouthpiece rotates forward. This reduces the contact surface on the tongue for a moment. This means that the signal is received particularly clearly by the horse and the rider is able to give effective aids. In this way, the novocontact bits support optimal communication and pave the way for improved contact.

Due to the modern novocontact geometry, this double-jointed model is a good choice for horses that occasionally become strong but are too sensitive for more powerful bits.
